About Mark Crowley

I am a certified public accountant with over 24 years of experience in providing accounting and audit services. I am currently a National Office Managing Director in Deloitte’s Accounting Services group where I advise the firm and clients on implementing and interpreting existing, new, and emerging accounting standards in my areas of expertise. Over the last few years, I led the team in Deloitte’s National Office responsible for following the development of the FASB Revenue Recognition Standard and am a member of Deloitte’s Expert Advisory Panel on Revenue (which has responsibility for advising the Global firm on all matters related to accounting standards for revenue). I am Deloitte\'s representative on the joint IASB/FASB Revenue Transition Resources Group (a group responsible for informing the IASB and the FASB about interpretive issues that could arise when companies, institutions, and other organizations implement the new revenue recognition standard). I am also Deloitte\'s representative on the AICPA Financial Reporting Executive Committee (FinREC) and the AICPA\'s Revenue Review Working Group. I am an expert in U.S. GAAP and have broad experience in both public and private company accounting and reporting requirements, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, and initial public offerings. I spent two years working in Deloitte’s National Office Accounting Consultation advising clients on technical accounting matters, as well as, co-authoring Deloitte’s accounting manuals on revenue recognition and serving as advisor to Deloitte’s representative on the Emerging Issue Task Force (EITF). I received a Business Administration degree in Accounting from Miami University and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prior to transfering to the firm\'s National Office served large domestic and multinational companies in addition to serving several middle market manufacturing companies (both public and private). Broad experience in both public and private company accounting and reporting requirements, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, and initial public offerings. Experience also includes two years working in the firm\'s National Accounting Research Group focused on researching technical accounting issues for a broad range of clients; co-authoring several Deloitte & Touche LLP’s accounting manuals including the initial revenue recognition manual; and serving as advisor to the firm\'s representative on the Emerging Issue Task Force (EITF).
