I lead the analytical function at National Highways, overseeing a team of 70 specialists across transport modelling, economics, statistics, operational research, and evaluation. I provide the executive and Board with clear, evidence-based advice to inform strategic decisions, including those underpinning the £27bn Road Investment Strategy. I’m responsible for assessing whether programmes and projects deliver their intended outcomes, both before and after implementation, helping to shape future plans, initiatives, and policies. I also lead research into emerging analytical techniques to continually enhance the quality of our evidence base. My focus is on ensuring that analysis drives better decisions and delivers measurable impact.
