About Mark Chimel
I am currently a research designer and analyst at Carnegie Mellon University. I am passionate about student success and postsecondary access and I recently received my doctorate in educational leadership. My dissertation focused on the aggregate and student-level impacts of a rural community promise program and my research interests include college promise programs, higher education equity, practitioner research methods, and college affordability policy. Before moving into institutional research, I was the Director of Professional, Continuing, and Distance Education at Shippensburg University and worked in several different capacities in higher education from athletic coaching to advising.
