From the time I was a skinny seven year-old toeing the line of my first 5k fun run with my dad and brother by my side, until my final year of collegiate athletics (2012), when, as a fully conditioned 21 year-old Division I track and field athlete I crossed the finish line of my final collegiate decathlon, “competitive athlete” was how I defined myself. The end of my organized athletic career wore away at this self-definition, exposing beneath it a replacement I carry with equal pride: “Business Athlete”. As a business athlete, I approach my web streaming of athletic events and involvement with Vita Coco as I approached organized athletics, applying the same determination and self-discipline that helped me achieve goals on the track.As a dual citizen of The United States and Australia I read business news from both countries, fueling my desire for adventure. After a brilliant Summer-2008 visit to Tanzania and an unforgettable Summer-2010 spent working and observing in Cairns, Australia, I embarked on a 3-month self-guided tour of SE Asia during the summer of 2013. While abroad, I focused on immersing myself in the local culture to expand my understanding of regional/global business practices.
