About Mark Bowman

I wear three \"hats\" within the Flight Dynamics Division, Flight Operations Directorate at the NASA Johnson Space Center: 1) I am the Flight Operations Lead for the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) of the Lunar Gateway project, 2) I am the Soyuz Spacecraft Systems and Crew Operations Lead, In this role, I am responsible for providing to the Astronaut Office and Flight Operations Directorate operational, safety and mission assurance assessments of Soyuz spacecraft upgrades and modifications, manufacturing, test, launch preparation, launch, on-orbit operations, final descent, and crew recovery. And 3) I am an ISS CapCom (spacecraft communicator) in Mission Control, where I get to talk to the astronauts onboard the International Space Station. I have over 36 years of experience in space hardware development and integration, project management, and project engineering, both as a NASA civil servant (17+ years) and a contractor (19+ years).Specialties: International integration and cooperation, project management, project engineering,foreign language expertise (fluent in Russian and Spanish)
