As a commercial litigator with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, I represent clients across industries in business disputes and corporate matters, such as breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, ERISA, and class action lawsuits. I handle all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts nationwide and partner with in-house legal teams to develop and implement business-aligned legal and risk management strategies. With 20+ years of experience, I frequently act as lead attorney on matters and counsel in-house legal on strategies for avoiding potential litigation. I provide value to clients in several key areas, including: • Efficient Case Management: I lead and supervise teams of junior associates, paralegals, and staff, managing eDiscovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. As local counsel for national businesses, I work with in-house counsel to manage cases and coordinate litigation. I set and manage budgets, with emphasis on cost-reduction strategies. • Litigation Strategy: After conducting pre-suit investigations and evaluating case facts, I advise on potential exposure and devise tailored case strategies. I leverage my knowledge of litigation trends and provide guidance on whether to pursue litigation or settle. I negotiate with opposing counsel at all stages, including settlement. • Risk Mitigation & Compliance: I counsel in-house teams on strategies to manage risk. I conduct investigations, handle strategic responses to federal and state agency inquiries, and advise on how to adapt policies and processes to comply with relevant regulations. Most recently, I defended a regional hospital system against a claim for health benefits in federal court, successfully obtaining partial dismissal of the lawsuit, reducing potential damages by ~$1.5M, and settling the claim for $25k. I also counseled a NASDAQ-listed technology company on response strategy to a Department of Labor investigation into the company’s healthcare plan, ensuring the agency declined to take further action. Prior to joining Stoel Rives, I worked in several firms in Washington, D.C, including leading global law firm WilmerHale, where I represented clients in high value commercial litigation involving securities, partnership and business disputes. I secured my J.D. from Duke University School of Law and B.A, cum laude, from Gonzaga University.
