Test Lead @Royal London

View department →

Edinburgh, GB

Responsible for the test management of multiple project teams whose remit is to deliver fully tested internal / external systems used across Royal London and by external customers. I have been responsible for testing the successful delivery of projects such as Older Contract Projections, Retail Distribution Review, Brand and our SQL Server upgrade. My current role is Test Team Lead for Support Resolution (SR) & the Request for Change (RFC) team managing the testing carried out by a team of 7 Test Analysts, comprising of 2 permanent Royal London Test Analysts, 1 On-shore co-ordinator Test Analyst and 4 offshore Test Analysts from our 3rd party test partner NTT. The team has the ability to flex up with onshore staff to around 12 depending on work demand. The SR role is varied and relates to fixing production defects (calls) across all platforms which have been assessed through our call scoring process. This process categorises the call into Significant Uncontrolled, Significant Controlled or Other on which I base the priority of testing. The RFC role relates to progressing system improvements on behalf of the Business Stakeholders including 3rd parties and small to medium regulatory changes. I am responsible for the test approach including test techniques, manual and or automation (FIT/QTP) testing, co-ordination of best practice testing through the test environment cycle of System test, User Acceptance Test and Pre Production test for all calls & RFC’s. I plan each change in conjunction with our monthly production releases.
