ABOUT MARK APLIN

I have over 30 year\'s experience in forecasting then deploying and maintaining both personnel and assets in the telecoms industry, including 30 years whilst a serving regular and reserve member of HM Forces. I\'m enthusiastic, pro-active, disciplined and motivated,(hopefully!) instilling confidence in management and team members alike. With a flexible and approachable manner with excellent inter-personal and communications skills, I do not shy away from the truth about a task, be it good, bad or challenging.(Customer expectation management is sometimes a must!) I can dictate or delegate, lead or follow, manage, coach and mentor other team members as and when the situation dictates. A lateral thinker and problem solver, I use my initiative in providing solutions in pressured situations and tight timelines. I have the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team. I encourage ideas and where needed, I involve others in making decisions; I don\'t know everything, so I\'m happy to have input from elsewhere. I have many years experience with project management, including from financial approval through BoM production to project close-out. My recent roles with Nokia\'s Special Projects teams have seen increased revenue with reduced overheads. I also have extensive experience with structured cabling as a planner and installer, for both fibre and copper, for local distribution and backbone cabling. I\'m also MS Office literate with the usual applications. I look for opportunities for personal development and career progression for myself as well as others within my team or organisation.
