MHI is a national developer, owner and manager of service enriched affordable housing for working families, seniors and the chronically homeless with over 5,600 units in the Great Lakes region and a nationwide portfolio of affordable housing in excess of $3 billion. In my prior position at MHL of Sr. Vice President for Real Estate Development and Investments, was responsible for all real estate development activities for MHL. Oversight and management responsibilities for a staff of five real estate development professionals and an active real estate development pipeline of 800 units with total development costs of nearly $200 million. In 2013 and 2014, sourced and closed the first acquisition (the 128-unit Illinois Apartments building in Aurora, IL) funded by the $100 million Housing Partnership Equity Trust, the first REIT formed by affordable housing non-profits to preserve affordably priced housing; also sourced and closed the 105-unit River West Commons apartment complex in Elgin, IL without recourse to any public debt, equity or operating subsidies.
