Serve as Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor, directing, coordinating, and managing the performance of division operations, Homeland Security projects, and the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Define agency goals, develop budget and strategic plans, and prioritize projects and activities promoting public safety. Develop and implement policies governing the collection, management, and analysis of threats to homeland security, whether related to cyber, targeted violence, terrorism, or critical infrastructure. Testify during legislative hearings on proposed legislation impacting public safety and Developed Ohio’s first Cyber Fusion Center with the Governor’s Cybersecurity Advisor and various public agencies and private partners, including the National Guard. Oversee the Statewide Terrorism Analysis and Crime Center in coordinating crime intelligence gathering, sharing critical information with internal and external stakeholders, including local, state, and federal agencies and the private sector. Develop numerous first-time processes, teams, and reports to elevate capabilities in behavioral threat assessment and management, community-based risk mitigation, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR). Recommend changes to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) and Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), serving as the subject matter expert on public safety topics affecting Ohio citizens and administration and steering funding priorities and projects.
