My name is Mariyam Ali, and I am a rising senior at the Morris County School of Technology. I am passionate about medicine because I believe healthcare is a powerful tool for justice and healing, not just of the human body, but of the communities which are often overlooked and underserved. Throughout my high school experience, I have taken initiative to lead outreach programs and tackle public health issues, learning firsthand how deeply medicine is intertwined with social equity. My goal is to become a physician who listens beyond symptoms and fights to transform healthcare systems so that compassion and fairness guide every patient’s experience.

   As one of the Chief Operating Officers of Future Physicians, a national student-led nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to medical opportunities and mentorship for aspiring healthcare professionals, I support the coordination and execution of internal operations across all departments. I work closely with the President, Vice President, and Executive Board to ensure the organization runs efficiently and remains aligned with our core mission: to empower, connect, and equip the next generation of future physicians.Key Responsibilities: • Support strategic coordination amongst all departments, including Outreach, Hiring, Fundraising, Events, and Social Media, etc. • Ensure operational efficiency and accountability across teams through consistent communication, reporting systems, and performance tracking • Facilitate weekly and biweekly leadership meetings to promote alignment, transparency, and problem-solving • Oversee director onboarding, task delegation, and internal collaboration • Implement and manage accountability systems (e.g, Strike System) to maintain high standards of leadership and productivity • Contribute to the planning and execution of national initiatives, partnerships, and student engagement opportunities • Help foster a mission-driven, collaborative culture rooted in professionalism, equity, and long-term impact
