About Marita Eibl
I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University. I conducted my doctoral research on the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) treatment programming in Washington, D.C, and East Africa. Funded by a Fulbright-Hays fellowship, I was able to do research in Tanzania that included U.S. and Tanzanian government officials, U.S. contracted treatment partner personnel, local clinicians, and women patients. My work examines global health diplomacy, policy and programming, and HIV/AIDS. In my current position as a Presidential Management Fellow, I am working with International Response Programs at the Department of Health and Human Services. Specialties: Medical anthropology; Global health diplomacy; Health policy; Health Development; Gender; African Studies; HIV/AIDS; AIDS treatments
