ABOUT MARISOL REDONDO

Would you be willing to leave your entire career, your life, for a better quality of life? This is my story… It all started on August 10th, 2017, date I will never forget; we closed all the doors, got on a plane and said goodbye to Mexico. Let\'s go back a few years; I am a psychologist with two masters and a very successful career in human resources, I was finally in a company that I loved, with a very good salary and a successful career ahead. My husband, a Lawyer, with a Master Corporate Law & a MBE; also very successful, with a great salary, working together with his best friend. But something was missing… There was never enough time to see each other, there were no laughs, there were no trips, and it was not the same. why? Why when you have money and you are successful, everything else has to be lost? We used to leave our home at 6am and come back at 10pm after working all day and having to deal with the traffic. We decided that if we wanted to continue as a couple and have children, Mexico was no longer an option, but we knew that it would not be easy, we couldn´t practice our professions in other countries, it was starting from scratch, going to a new culture, leaving our friends.EVERYTHING. We make a deep research and decided that Glasgow was the best option for us; the language & climate was going to be a great challenge, but we decided to fight for our dream, in May 2017 we decided to quit our jobs, notify the family, put our apartment for sale and follow our dream. They told us we were crazy, they offered us more money, but the dream was bigger, we just wanted to enjoy life. I will never forget the feeling I had when I got on that plane; I was so scared and just told my husband,\"Tell me we\'re going to be ok,\"\"Tell me it was a good decision.\" My first experience working in the country was as a CRE in the LATAM team for SDWORX, where I was responsible for running and checking 10 payrolls mostly for US, Canada and LATAM. Then, I was approach by IIPAY for the position of International payroll associate where I was responsible for running and checking 13 payrolls mostly European countries and US, even though I was doing a really good job I wanted something different, I wanted to change people’s lives, so during COVID I decided to create my own company MR Counseling. Five years later, I can tell you not TO BE AFRAID TO START OVER, TO DO SOMETHING NEW AND GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. It is the best decision we have ever made, I had never laughed that much and enjoyed my life so much.
