ABOUT MARISA T.
I\'m a 2L at the University of San Diego School of Law focused on education law, shaped by years of nonprofit work with immigrant and refugee families and experience working with school districts. At the core of my work is a commitment to helping schools better support and serve their students. As a first generation college and law student, I know firsthand the difference education can make in a person\'s life. That conviction was deepened through my nonprofit work with immigrant and asylum-seeking youth, where I witnessed how access to quality, engaging education shapes the trajectory of young people\'s lives in ways that ripple far beyond the classroom.Born and raised in San Diego, I also bring a global perspective from my undergraduate years at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where I graduated with First-Class Honours in International Relations.Outside of school, you\'ll find me in the open water in La Jolla. With over six years as a certified scuba instructor and a twice-weekly swim habit, I believe taking care of yourself is what makes a sustainable career possible.
