ABOUT MARISA PORTUONDO

Prior to attending law school, I obtained my Master\'s degree in Management Information Systems. At this time, I worked on an international ERP Implementation project as Assistant Project Manager for a pharmaceutical company. At the end of this project, I was asked to stay on in the Operations Department as the Raw Materials Buyer/Planner responsible for over $60 Million in pharmaceutical raw material inventory. After a few years in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to apply for law school. During law school, I interned for the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami, Florida and for the Office of the Public Defender - Felony Division. After graduating, I worked for a few boutique law firms but found myself frustrated with the lack of processes and systems and decided to hang up my own shingle. I started Portuondo Law Firm in 2009 - a boutique firm focused on business and construction law. We represent business owners as outside General Counsel and in disputes and litigation matters. As a business owner and an attorney, I know how easy it is to become consumed by work to the point of burn-out. This is not good for the business owner, the industry, or the clients. Today, it brings me great pleasure to work with law firm owners to help increase their efficiency and improve their work-life balance by developing systems and processes, setting up tech, organizing data, and training staff.
