ABOUT MARIO VECA

PhD graduate in statistical physics with a strong focus on modeling complex systems and uncertainty. Over time, this focus has naturally led me to quantitative finance, where similar mathematical structures and analytical approaches play a central role.I was trained at Sapienza University, a global leader in statistical physics research. During my academic journey, I had the honor of completing my Master’s thesis under Nobel laureate Giorgio Parisi, using Monte Carlo methods to perform numerical simulations of spin glass systems. Later, during my PhD, my research focused on complex biological systems, analysing the effect of perturbations on their stochastic dynamics through techniques such as Malliavin Weight Sampling. I also developed an algorithm for stochastic differential equations with conservation laws and validated it across different systems. This experience strengthened my computational skills, analytical thinking, and ability to design models for complex systems. It also deepened my understanding of stochastic processes, optimization, and data driven modeling. As a result, I have recently started working as a Quantitative Researcher at Aquatic Capital Management, beginning my professional career in quantitative finance.
