ABOUT MARIO LACOUTURE
I am the Chief of the Division of Dermatology at the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine. I also serve as the Medical Director of the Symptom Management Program at the Perlmutter Cancer Center of the NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island.As a dermatologist and clinician-scientist, I created the first program focused on skin, hair, and nail conditions in cancer patients and survivors. Oncodermatology is now a thriving field that is well-established around the globe and has been recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology, CancerCare, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. My research has been published in more than 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and I have also authored the textbook “Dermatologic Principles and Practice in Oncology, Wiley 2012” and trade book “Dr. Lacouture’s Skin Care Guide for People Living with Cancer, Harborside 2012”.
