ABOUT MARIO BYRD

Originally from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, I am a former collegiate student-athlete that received my undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University. Following graduation I served as an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher for two years while completing a scholarship agreement. After teaching for two years I transitioned into NCAA athletics full time as an Assistant Football Coach. Along with working with the football team at my universities, I have also worked in Recruiting, Student Affairs groups and also Fellowship of Christian Athletes. One of the things that I enjoy doing on the side is working in social media along with graphic making. I am known for having excellent interpersonal skills and having ability to work well with others, in both supervisory and support staff roles. I also show the ability to organize, prioritize, and work under extreme pressure, heavy workload, and deadlines. Future goals are to gain knowledge and experience to achieve careers in administration and athletics.
