About Marina Tharayil
I enjoy bringing creative solutions to today\'s business and societal challenges through the next generation of technologies. I find it rewarding to use my communication skills to reach across organizations and create productive alliances that advance product development. I value the people I work with and like to create and nurture accomplished teams of talented people. In my latest role, I work on Connected Vehicle technologies at Ford Motor Companies. I manage a team of data scientists working with geospatial data and advanced analytics to create cutting edge technologies. I have leading two product teams prior to that, which used agile software development processes to provide analytic solutions in automomous driving and connectivity. Prior to this, I served various roles at Xerox-PARC and Conduent. My last role was as the Director of Process Analytics and Transformation Lab in Conduent Research. In PARC, I was a research competency manager for the Business Process Modeling and Optimization (BPMO) and held a program management role for transportation research work at PARC, Webster. At Xerox, I managed the Systems Design and Controls group to serve technology development in the services and solutions domain. I started my career in technical roles on paper path design and control for various Xerox printers. Specifically, I led the media registration technology development effort for iGen3 digital press family, which resulted in the improved registration control in iGen4. I am the author of several research publications and patents. I joined the Advance Media Handling Group in Xerox in August 2005 as a research staff member specializing in mechatronics. I earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from from University of Illinois, as a National Science Foundation Fellowship recipient. My thesis focused on developing high performance algorithms for precision motion control algorithms. I am a recipient of the 2009 Rochester Business Journal 40 under 40 award and a finalist for Rochester Engineering Society\'s 2012 Young Engineer of the Year Award. I am a senior member of (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), and past president of the University of Illinois MechSE Alumni Board
