ABOUT MARINA COSTA

Born in Manhattan and raised in Iguape, Brazil, Marina comes from a family deeply rooted in construction, with her father practicing as a registered architect and builder in Brazil. A dynamic Project Manager with diverse experience in design and construction administration, Marina holds a dual major in Architecture and Planning from São Judas University. With a keen interest in the technical aspects of this discipline, Marina is drawn to addressing deficiencies within the building envelope. During her tenure at Rojas AP, Marina spent over 3.5 years working under a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI), actively contributing to a range of residential and commercial projects. Her focus on occupant safety, health, and well-being extended to both interior and exterior aspects of the projects. This experience equipped her with a thorough understanding of NYC building codes, ADA compliance, and energy codes. In 2019, she shared expertise as a Guest Lecturer at Hunter College, and in 2020, completed a 16-week class on Sustainable Design by Jefferson University.In February 2022, Marina joined Mayta + Sebastian Architecture, specializing in FISP (LL11), facade repair, and restoration projects, including historic landmarks. Working under a QEWI, excelling in facade restoration and FISP projects. Later, in April 2023, Marina completed a 12-week Construction Project Management course at Columbia University, enhancing her oversight and coordination skills with contractors and stakeholders.In March 2024, Marina proudly joined the ranks of HLZAE\'s (Howard L. Zimmerman Architects and Engineers) facade experts, driven by an unwavering passion to leave a profound and enduring mark on the built environment. Committed to servicing clients with integrity and excellence, she is dedicated to crafting innovative architectural solutions. Currently preparing for the NCARB ARE exams after completing over NCARB AXP hours, Marina is on the path to licensure.
