ABOUT MARINA CAÑADAS-ORTEGA

Since I was a child, I always wanted to know more. What makes us sneeze, why does it rain, how does the electricity work, what happens to the food we eat? 🤔 My sense of curiosity only grew with the years and mixed with my vocation to help others, telling me that I wanted to professionally devote myself to a career in the field of Life Sciences 🦠‍🧬During my +5 years of experience as a research scientist, I worked in 3 different biomedical fields in 3 countries, developing, optimizing, and validating pre-clinical and analytical assays, and 4 model organisms, and managed to master +25 SOPs. During this period, I also developed other powerful skills, and I realized my scientific vocation went far beyond the laboratory: Project & time management: leading two simultaneous projects for my PhD, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines Communication skills: presenting research data in 7 scientific conferences and publishing 5 research papers Critical thinking: effective reasoning and decision making Leadership: mentoring and training 4 Masters and Bachelors students Interpersonal skills: establishing 3 collaborations with clinicians and between departmentsOn balance, I am an enthusiastic and proactive scientist willing to apply the solid scientific & medical knowledge acquired over +10 years in multicultural environments to create value and truly make a difference in patients\' lives. I am self-motivated and able to work autonomously, although I also feel very comfortable being part of a team. I am encouraged to cooperate, make decisions, and bring new ideas to the table to achieve the best outcomes.Excited to move forward and looking for the next step in my professional journey! If, as you read this, you believe there may be an alignment between my skills and your company\'s needs, please don\'t hesitate to reach out to me via email at m••••••••@gmail.com or through LinkedIn. I am eager to explore potential opportunities and contribute to meaningful projects together
