About Marimar Tello
Howdy, my name is Marimar Paola Tello a Mexican-American Houston native.I am a Sports Journalist currently working as an assignment editor in a top 10 national scale market. I graduated University of Houston class of 2017 where I acquired a Bachelor\'s degree in Journalism and in Spanish. My junior year of college I studied abroad in Spain where I completed a concentration in Sports Journalism while interning covering LA LIGA matches for FC Sevilla and Real Betis soccer clubs. I am completely fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.Within my first year in the industry I was nominated three times to the Lonestar EMMY awards.I started my professional career at the age of 17 at ESPN Deportes Houston.At an early age I discovered my passion for Journalism specifically in the industry of Sports. At the earliest opportunity I began to travel the world to the most important sporting competitions such as; FIFA World Cup\'s since 2014 until now, boxing matches, UEFA Champions League matches and other prestigious tournaments, both as a freelancer and as a fanatic. I am seeking professional growth and the opportunity to land a job as a sports reporter preferably within soccer industry. It would be an honor to make history in an industry predominated by males.If God grants I aspire to be a Sports reporter and the first ever female soccer reporter to cover the Mexican National Team as a “field reporter” for a World Cup and Olympic games. It would be my greatest honor to one day be on the side of history of someone who can inspire young latinas to fulfill their dreams through hard work and dedication.As of today I am blessed to have the experience under my belt to have covered important matches as a Multi-Media Journalist. These valuable experiences have given me a thriving yet a humbling mindset to achieve what one day seemed impossible. I am happy but ambitious and ready for more.As we say in Texas saddle up and enjoy this ride with me.
