ABOUT MARILYN BECERRA DE ROSALES

I am a geoscience professional with over six years of experience spanning geology, petrophysics, and petroleum engineering. With a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering (2006) and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology (2024), I bring a multidisciplinary approach to solving subsurface challenges. My expertise lies in leveraging advanced geoscience tools and techniques to support exploration and development in the petroleum industry. I have worked with leading energy companies, contributing to a variety of impactful projects such as: Montney Formation 3D Modeling: Created high-resolution facies models using Petrel, improving reservoir characterization and supporting development strategies. Also Upper Mannville and Banff Formation Mapping: Conducted petrophysical analysis, fluid characterization, and drilling prospect evaluations to identify opportunities and exploration initiatives. In addition, I worked in a Carbon Sequestration Analysis project: Evaluated carbonate and siliciclastic reservoirs in Ontario’s Cambrian Unit, delivering feasibility assessments for petrophysics analysis. These roles have honed my skills in sedimentary geology, reservoir characterization, petrophysics and data integration, allowing me to contribute effectively to exploration and development teams. At Mount Royal University, I earned recognition for my independent research on the Mannville Glauconitic Sandstone, which I presented at GeoConvention 2024. This project focused on stratigraphy and sedimentology, offering insights for petroleum exploration in Alberta. Additionally, I received the CEGA Undergraduate Student Scholarship (20••••24) and contributed to technical publications on reservoir characterization. I bring strong technical skills and proficiency with geoscience software, including: Petrel, AccuMap, GeoSCOUT, and Interactive Petrophysics (IP) for data analysis and modeling. Core Analysis, Facies Modeling, and Reservoir Characterization to optimize exploration and development strategies. Wireline Log Interpretation and Data Integration to create actionable geological insights. With a solid foundation in geology, petrophysics and petroleum engineering, I offer a unique combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset. My ability to integrate geological and engineering principles allows me to identify opportunities, enhance reservoir understanding, and deliver value to exploration and development projects. I look forward to connecting with industry professionals and contributing to innovative geoscience and energy initiatives.
