ABOUT MARIJ W. JANJUA

As a current Doctor of Dental Surgery Candidate at New York University College of Dentistry, I aim to perform at the highest level as I raise awareness for head and neck cancers and progress in my studies. I am the Founder and President of the NYU-Head and Neck Oncology Society operating within the NYU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department with the goal of performing oncology research, community collaborations and volunteering, and surgical oncology observerships at different Universities. This Oncology Society received a Commendation from the Office of the Mayor of New York City on April 2025 signed and acknowledged by Mayor Eric Adams.I am also a graduate of University of Texas at Austin with a triple-major in International Business, Government, and History with a double-minor in Arabic and Pre-Health Track. My focus was on Healthcare Business, Biblical Studies, and Islamic Civilization studying aspects of Ghazalian Philosophy, Mughal Empire history, and the Italian Renaissance. I did research in Dell Medical School focusing on Community Water Fluoridation in Texan communities.My studies and research at University of Texas at Austin brought me to pursuing a Masters of Science in Research Administration at Johns Hopkins University, where I presented my studies at a University of Maryland-Johns Hopkins University Joint Symposium for Drug Discovery. I continue to build my career and pursue my goals and ambitions of becoming a Doctor while assisting and giving back to the communities around me.
