Representing the department when liaising with clients and stakeholders about issues related to domestic science priorities- Interpreting intent of client/stakeholder policy positions; maintaining contacts with other government departments, the private sector and professional organizations to discuss policy files, issues, effects and trends; influencing the acceptance/adoption of policies and strategies- Attending interdepartmental, federal/provincial/territorial meetings- Participating in negotiating agreements within established guidelines- Facilitating stakeholder engagement within existing collaboration agreements- Developing and preparing discussion, technical, position and policy papers, briefing notes,presentations, and ministerial correspondence- Providing strategic advice for senior management on science issues related to agriculture and agrifood sector based on varied research & analysis (e.g, annual call, Alternative Pest Management Solutions, Clean Tech Accelerator program, Agri-Science, foresight questions)- Developing written briefing material, presentations and delivering oral briefings- Working with AAFC scientists to identify and administer opportunities for external & internal collaboration- Participating in relevant science and research related webinars/communications- A member of Agri-Food Advisory Panel at Science and Technology Branch- Science Partnerships lead on the National Potato Breeding file.
