Within the Governor\'s Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT), provide strategic direction in meeting the needs of Colorado employers by advancing opportunities for Coloradans through innovative career pathways.Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic oversight to the implementation of Opportunity Next, a $25 million scholarship and advising program to support and incentivize Colorado high school students to pursue postsecondary education and training, while highlighting Colorado\'s most in-demand pathways.• Provide strategic oversight to the Opportunity Now Summits, convening state and regional leaders in K12, higher education and business to discuss workforce needs and the education and training programs that might address those regional needs. Convenings will ultimately result in two- and five- year tactical regional workforce plans that develop career pathways in the most in demand industries.• Provide strategic oversight to the upcoming Opportunity Now Tax Credits, encouraging workforce development in industries impacted by IIJA, IRA and/or CHIPS workforce shortages. Tax credit provides financial assistance for facility and/or equipment acquisition costs associated with workforce training programs.• Support Opportunity Now Grant implementation, a $92 million program to create and expand innovative talent development collaboration efforts between business and education- Governor appointed to the State Apprenticeship Council and member of Colorado\'s delegation to Switzerland, focused on apprenticeship/work-based learning adoption and education reform.

At the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) I focus on bridging the gap between education and the workplace. With a vision to enhance opportunities that lead to economic mobility, my role involves strategic oversight of transformative initiatives including the $25M Opportunity Next scholarship and advising program aimed at incentivizing Coloradoans to pursue postsecondary education or training, and the organization of the Opportunity Now Summits, advancing employer-led discussions around workforce needs that result in tactical workforce development plans to shape the future of our state\'s economy.
