As Hispanic Community Liaison & Media Spokesperson, I build trust between the Hispanic & Latino community & law enforcement. My role is to connect residents with resources, create safe spaces for dialogue & organize programs that support survivors, families & community leaders. Education, empowerment & healing are at the center of my work. I believe education is the key to empowerment, so I design bilingual presentations that help residents understand their rights, access resources & strengthen their voice in the community. ABOUT MARIELA LEON
As the first in my family to attend university, I understand what it means to break barriers and create opportunities where none seemed to exist. With immigrant roots from Guatemala and El Salvador, I have seen firsthand the challenges that minority families face in underserved communities.I use my voice and platform to build trust, promote transparency, and open lines of communication between law enforcement and the Hispanic community. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, I serve as a bridge connecting residents, leaders, nonprofits, and government partners.My passion is empowering women and survivors of trauma. For a long time I thought something was wrong with me, but through education and resilience I found my purpose. Today I show women they have a voice, they have a choice, and there are laws to protect them. Tu voz sana.
