As GAIA Global Climate Program Director, my main responsibilities are- Take the lead in developing, revising, updating and implementing global climate strategy, including research and policy work, member support and engagement initiatives, and communications strategies, in collaboration with global support staff responsible for those work areas- Coordinate with regional staff to integrate the global climate program with the myriad climate-related projects underway at the regional level, including ongoing consultations with regional staff and members- Work with GAIA’s global fundraising and finance team to support fundraising for climate work and seek new funding opportunities for members, with the aim of growing the team and program- Promote member engagement in the global climate program, including participation in international meetings, capacity-building activities, coordinated communications and advocacy campaigns, and, as appropriate, the use of minigrants to aid member engagement- Coordinate and lead GAIA and allied delegations at key international meetings such as the COP- Continue to build and strengthen connections and partnerships between GAIA and allied networks and organizations, including climate justice networks, Climate Action Network, and strengthening working relationships with academic partners- Active participation in GAIA internal leadership, including regular online communication, and in-person international meetings up to 1-2 times per year- Supervise and provide mentoring and leadership development opportunities to staff as the program grows and develops- Maintain a regional presence to further the integration of the global support team and regional teams- Serve as a GAIA spokesperson in the media and public venues, and support coworkers and members to be spokespeople.
