As Event Planning Co-Chair for the Breakthrough Advisory Council, I co-led the planning and execution of social events designed to build community and engagement among Breakthrough Scholars. My responsibilities included- Participation in monthly meetings during fall and spring semesters (both virtual and in-person), plus additional summer sessions for event planning- Identify and propose three or more social event ideas each semester based on Scholar interests, including outreach to venues and vendors, and developed detailed budgets- Manage one major event per semester by delegating tasks to team members and overseeing all phases of event execution- Design and distributed feedback surveys in collaboration with marketing to evaluate event success and gather participant insights- Present feedback results to the council and Breakthrough leadership to recommend improvements for future events- Support other duties as assigned to enhance the overall Scholar experience. This role strengthened my project management, leadership, budgeting, and community engagement skills within a dynamic nonprofit advisory environment.
