ABOUT MARIEKE WESTEINDE
Hey, I’m Marieke!From working in recruitment and consulting to being an intern at an addiction rehab centre in Thailand, I have become fascinated by human behaviour and how the systems we work within shape our actions, motivation, and potential.I’m driven to explore how people, systems, and strategy can come together to create thriving, human-centred organizations. I’m especially curious about the “cost of judgment”: how our perceptions of ourselves and others impact communication, collaboration, and workplace culture. I want to help build environments that cultivate agency, empathy, and creativity in every individual.Outside of school, I’m passionate about wellbeing, community, and personal growth. You’ll often find me outside leading the UVic Run Club, swimming with friends, playing violin and exploring how movement and mindset fuel sustainable performance.Looking ahead, I’m excited to pursue a career in consulting or organizational development, helping businesses design systems that empower both people and performance.
