About Marie Bienkowski

At the Academies of Math & Science, a public charter school network in Tucson, AZ, I develop and coordinate new K-8 STEAM+CS programs, working with an academic team to create a coherent and interdisciplinary student experience across all grades. Early foci include piloting and tailoring modules in artificial intelligence and integrating concepts in science, engineering, and computational thinking into arts programs. An important part of the development is community involvement, including parents, local industry, postsecondary institutions, non-profits, and museums/science centers. We are sourcing training to help teachers meet rigorous standards for student learning. The goal is to set students attending the Academies of Math & Science on the path to careers in STEAM+CS.
