ABOUT MARIE TILLMAN SHENTON

Marie Tillman Shenton is an internationally recognized founder, philanthropist, author, and leader who advises brands, non-profits and individuals on leveraging their profiles and platforms for purpose. Marie’s career in philanthropy began when the unexpected death of her husband, NFL legend, and American hero, Pat Tillman made headlines around the world. Marie turned tragedy into a path of purpose by committing to carry forward Pat’s legacy of service by founding the Pat Tillman Foundation. The Tillman Foundation unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. To date Marie has helped steward over $37 million to deserving veterans and spouses and currently serves as the Chairman of the foundation. Marie is passionate about people finding their unique path to impact and shares her story to help encourage them to do so. Her memoir about love, loss and life, entitled The Letter was released in June 2012 by Grand Central Publishing. She has been a featured speaker at corporate retreats, non-profit conferences and academic institutions including JP Morgan, Inc. the United States Air Force Academy, University Of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, National Conference for College Women Student Leaders, Harvard Kennedy School, and Clinton Global Initiative. Marie’s experience in creating impact in sectors spanning across business, sports and philanthropy uniquely position her to serve as a sage guide to others on the journey to create impact using the greatest assets from their lives and work. Marie lives in Chicago with her husband Joe, their five kids.
