ABOUT MARIE LEGER

Dr. Marie Leger is a board certified dermatologist at Entière Dermatology and Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Prior to joining private practice, she was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell College of Medicine and at New York University. She completed her dermatology residency at New York University where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Leger attended medical school at the University of Illinois where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society. She also earned a PhD at the University of Illinois in the Institute of Communications Research, and received her undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley.Dr. Leger treats a broad range of medical and cosmetic skin conditions, and has an extensive research and publication record on such topics as international dermatology, technology and health, tattoo health, hair loss, and a variety of other dermatologic conditions. She has served as a consultant for a variety of telemedicine, pharmaceutical, and skin care companies, has been involved in clinical trials for new drug development, and is a regular reviewer for scientific publications such as JAMA Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology’s journal, the JAAD. She speaks frequently at national and international conferences, and is a sought after expert on skin health, cited regularly in such national and international publications as the New York Times, Vogue, and the BBC.Dr. Leger consults with organizations such as the FDA and New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene about tattoo health and medication access. She is also a board member of the European Tattoo and Pigment Society, and lectures tattoo artists about skin health, skin cancer detection, and tattoo safety. She is a former host of Doctor Radio on Sirius XM. Dr. Leger is a founding member of a teaching and research collaboration between the University of Ghana and New York University.Dr. Leger is from the San Francisco Bay Area and has spent time working and traveling in Nevada, New York City, Mexico City, Central America, and Africa. She speaks Spanish fluently, and French and Portuguese extremely poorly-but with great enthusiasm.
