ABOUT MARIE CHIVERS

I am a Strategic Market Access Director with a PhD (Pharma) and a clinical background as a GPhC registered Pharmacist. In my current role I typically support global market access teams preparing new products for launch or indication expansion. This role involves the development and payer testing of strategic value communications, conducting literature reviews and primary research, appraising likely HTA outcomes or readiness for HTA through landscape analyses. In this capacity I have worked in the oncology, ophthalmology, CGT, cardiology and gastrointestinal therapy areas. I have also supported projects in the areas of mapping and achieving reimbursement for vaccine, device and digital health technologies. Prior to working in consultancy, I worked in pharmaceutical product development for 10 years. My PhD studies were in the area of thermostabilization of dermal virus vector vaccine device products. Within the pharmaceutical industry, I led projects to develop a paediatric oral drug products for malaria and drug/device combinations and novel parenteral products for use in HIV and vaccines (malaria). I have worked as a drug delivery expert assessing portfolio options for innovation for parenteral products. I have worked at a global and multidisciplinary level and across all phases of development from preclinical through to commercial manufacturing. I have significant clinical, academic and strategic scientific medical and regulatory strategy writing experience. I am a trained facilitator and qualified in many problem-solving methodologies and team working solutions. My additional accomplishments of note include: Inventor of the Year 2012 (UCC), Associate Fellow GSK 2016, Co-host International Microneedle Conference 2016, Editor Journal of Controlled Release Special Issue (Challenges and Advances in Microneedle Technology), Vol 265, Nov 2017; Steering Committe International Microneedle Conference. I have line management experience, am very organized and remain passionate about research and advancing the choice and availability of medicines for patients globally.
