ABOUT MARIE CHARLES
I work within both the Rural Research Team and Farming Team at Strutt & Parker in Stamford. As a research and farming consultant my day-to-day role currently involves keeping a close eye to changes in the agricultural and land management sectors, including agricultural policy, natural capital, carbon markets, sustainable food production and working on internal and external publications relating to the rural sector. I also help clients with environmental schemes, subsidies and diversification projects. I have previous experience as a rural business consultant in Shropshire, providing strategic advice to farmers and land owners on environmental schemes, BPS, grant funding opportunities, farm diversification projects, market research, land development projects, planning, budgets and benchmarking reviews. My recently acquired qualification in Conservation Management has given me a wide view of practical issues we need to address as an industry to better the environment and ensure a sustainable future for the farming industry.
