Key responsibilities included- Handling and providing husbandry care for patients with varying levels of fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS), prioritizing low-stress and Fear Free techniques- Educating clients on pet health, treatment plans, post-operative care, and preventive care strategies- Assisting with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative recovery- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records using both paper documentation and the VetSpire electronic medical system- Administering medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes- Triaging and responding to emergency cases efficiently and calmly- Performing intravenous catheterization and blood collection, with attention to patient safety and precision- Conducting diagnostic testing, including manual microscopy, and operating IDEXX Catalyst, ProCyte, and SNAP testing systems- Operating radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images and coordinating with IDEXX for external review when appropriate- Performing ultrasound-guided cystocentesis and assisting in sedated procedures under DVM supervision- Managing weekly inventory, adjusting stock levels, and updating inventory sheets to ensure clinic readiness- Monitoring and organizing the clinic’s email inbox daily, responding to client communications, insurance submissions, and medical record requests.
