I am fortunate to lead Sunnyvale Community Services, an $12M agency focused on preventing homelessness and hunger in the \"heart\" of Silicon Valley. With 47 dedicated staff and over 1,500 volunteers, SCS has been a hub for safety net services for over 55 years. We served 11,523 of our low-income neighbors last year with rental assistance, year-round groceries, wrap-around case management, and connections to benefits and services. As one of the seven Emergency Assistance Network (EAN) agencies in Santa Clara County, we offer financial aid, year-round food assistance, case management, and connection to benefits. SCS\'s financial assistance prevents evictions and utility disconnections, pays medical and other critical bills, and helps homeless families and seniors regain permanent housing.
