ABOUT MARIE ALAVI

Research Integrity, Research Ethics, Open Science, Intellectual Property and Education build the foundation of my research activities. Currently: Under the guidance of an excellent mentor and researcher, Prof Priess-Buchheit, I am involved in the HorizonEurope project IP4OS - Unpacking the possibilities of Intellectual Properties for Open Science (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/10•••••26). The aim is to analyse and conceptualise a concerted approach to Intellectual Properties Management and Open Science and to train multi-professionals to apply this pioneering technique to promote knowledge valorisation. My contribution to Open Science (OS) within NERQ led to the development of the Open Science Learning GATE which promotes innovative and high-quality training in OS and harmonises OS standards. OS knowledge creators are invited to provide their insights into the OS practice and education via the GATE Service: https://mik2024.limesurvey.net/586981?lang=en. Before: The Horizon2020 project Path2Integrity promoted Research Integrity and laid the foundation for empirical findings on factors influencing learners\' knowledge and scientific concepts and in the evaluations of educational materials for higher education. Within \"Beyond Disciplinary Boundaries\" I conceptualized curricula for the promotion of future skills such as data literacy, critical/reflective thinking, anticipation, transferability etc, characterized by innovative didactic methods and a transdisciplinary approach. In the project \"HAnS\" I was responsible for the consolidation of the research results (Didactics, Evaluation, Acceptance, Ethics), for didactic derivations and the definition of technical-organizational design principles for AI-based architectures. This work fostered my vision of responsible, values-driven and ethical research and the need for a holistic view of the possibilities, limitations and impact of AI. Before that I was responsible for the definition and management of the Sustainability Standard and Information Security Management System for businesses (ISO 27001). These professional experiences and my studies in Literature, Political Science and European Law have fostered my reflective view of scientific, professional, social and individual actions and socio-political activities. Further interests are • (legal and political) regulation,(human) oversight mechanisms of AI • educational processes of children • interdependencies between politics, economics, research, innovation, ethics and civil society.
