Hispanic Initiative - Diversity and Inclusion Manager Biomedical Services @American Red Cross
At the American Red Cross, our clients, volunteers, employees, donors and suppliers represent a wide array of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, ages, lifestyles, beliefs and philosophies. It is critical that we embrace the rich diversity around us. The American Red Cross Biomedical Services, Connecticut Region, developed a Hispanic Donor Outreach project four years ago and I was hired as the the Hispanic Initiative - Diversity & Inclusion Manager. The Hispanic population in the state has grown to approximately 13% of the total (a 50% increase in the last decade) and thus the need for Hispanic which has increased 29% since September 2010. The work that I have done to do includes the following: Presentations to Hispanic organizations in the urban city of Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven and Willimantic in particular Hispanic Leaders Organizations. Regular blood drives have been sponsored by Hispanic Groups since 2008.
