ABOUT MARIA VICTORIA BUSSOLETTI PANIZO
Biotechnologist by training, currently a PhD candidate working in cell-free synthetic biology, with a focus on membrane protein production and membrane-assisted protein expression. My research centres on developing novel cell-free biosensors harnessing membrane proteins,and advancing the cell-free toolbox to enable the synthesis of more complex proteins requiring PTMs. My academic and professional path has taken me across 5+ countries, and working across cultures and languages has strengthened my ability to adapt in diverse and interdisciplinary environments. As a former international field hockey player, I also bring a strong sense of teamwork, resilience, and commitment to my work. I am driven by curiosity and enjoy learning across disciplines, and I am motivated by science that can make a positive impact.
