About Maria Storer

Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist (CST-FA) recently relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am part of the UPMC Travel Team for all University of Pittsburgh Medical Center locations. I have also joined the CORE-Center for Organ Recovery and Education team as a Sub-Contractor.In Tampa, Florida, I was on the Certified First Assistant Resource Team at Healthtrust Work Solutions. We covered all HCA West Florida Division Hospitals. Before that, I has the pleasure of working as a Certified Surgical Technologist IV, First Assist and Preceptor at Tampa General Hospital. TGH is a Level I Trauma Center that partners with the University of South Florida bringing forward thinking and innovation to many surgical specialties nationwide.Previously, I spent 7 years at Florida Hospital Altamonte and Nicholson Center for Global Robotics as part of an amazing, positive and self driven team. These are both part of Advent Health System hospitals. Additionally, worked as a Certified Surgical First Assist at Central Florida Regional, an HCA Level 2 Trauma Hospital in Sanford, Florida. The surgical specialties I cover are, Robotics, General, Plastics, Colorectal, Urology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Hand, Orthopedics, Thoracic, Vascular, Ortho, Pediatrics, and Organ Procurement.I attended Madisonville Community College in 2017 and obtained my certification as a Certified First Assistant. I hope to continue working on my Bachelors in Education so I can become a Surgical Technology/ First Assist Professor in the future or a Rep for a surgical company. At Florida Hospital Altamonte and Tampa General, our Surgeons and staff work in a cohesive manner and are friendly to each other which makes it an all around great place to work. We are a Robotics Center of Excellence. As a Surgical Tech IV, I was extremely involved in that specialty team as well as practiced in ten other specialties. I also became part of the Resource Team at Health First. I work at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay and Viera Hospitals as part of their Surgical Float. My vast experience with clients, customers and patients has given me an insight into service in a variety of ways that have made me into a more versatile asset to any workforce. I hope to continue my journey here in Pittsburgh providing care and expertise to all area hospital systems.
