About Marianne Wilkinson
Marianne Wilkinson helps develop revolutionary lightweight composite airframes and composite materials that transform how we travel. She is passionate about developing more weight and cost efficient commercial products made from composite materials. Marianne has 20 years of experience as a wing structural engineer, 15 of which are in the field of composite aircraft structures and developing new technology for certified aircraft structure. She has extensive new polymer composite material development experience, and primary structure wing box design and analysis engineering experience. Marianne has engineered coupon size to large subcomponent panel size structural test articles and has helped develop and validate new structural analysis stress methods for composite structure for the 787 and aircraft families for impact damage (compression after impact) and for damage tolerance (large notch). When it comes to composite airframe structure and materials, Marianne knows the common pitfalls and traps, but more importantly she also knows how to bend the rules and leverage the benefits of composites to help new and existing technologies get the next level of performance.
