ABOUT MARIAN DANKO
I work as a Senior Venture Manager at Innovate Calgary, where I manage incubator programs including the Innovation Catalyst Grant (ICG) and the Aerospace Accelerator Program (AAP). I also collaborate with University of Calgary researchers and faculty to help turn their discoveries into real world impact through partnerships with industry, funding bodies, and service providers. I care deeply about building founder communities, which is why I host Founders Lunch, a monthly event that brings entrepreneurs together to connect, learn, and engage with investors and industry experts. My journey from Ukraine, to 11 years in China, and now Canada has shaped my passion for supporting entrepreneurs and building strong startup ecosystems. While in Shanghai, I founded TECOM, an annual innovation event recognized by Forbes China, and launched Founders Breakfast, a weekly gathering designed to foster meaningful connections among founders. I also created Between Meetings, an on the go interview series with leaders in the innovation ecosystem that I have now brought to Calgary. I am always interested in connecting with people who care about entrepreneurship, venture building, and growing early stage startups in Calgary and beyond.
