ABOUT MARIANA BERNARDES
I am a Researcher Fellow in Radiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. I am specialized in medical robotics and my research is focused on robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures, particularly in laparoscopy and image-guided percutaneous interventions. Before joining the Brigham, I received a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Brasilia, and a Ph.D in Automation and Microelectronic Systems from University of Montpellier. From 2015 to 2021, I was an Assistant Professor at Electronics Engineering in the University of Brasilia (UnB). While at UnB, I was also part of the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program, a faculty researcher in the Automation and Robotics Laboratory (LARA), and co-founder of the Laboratory for Testing of Electromedical Devices and Systems (LENSE).
