The Data Lab MSc differs from other academic courses as it focuses on applying academic knowledge to the world of industry, and developing non-technical skills that are essential to becoming a data scientist. As Skills co-ordinator I am responsible for delivering a programme of events and training to ensure that all of The Data Lab MSc students are given the opportunity to apply the skills they have learnt in the classroom to solve real life organisational problems and challenges. These include The Data Lab Placement Programme, Data Talent Scotland, The Data Lab Innovation week and other opportunities for students to network with the growing Data Science Community in Scotland.
