ABOUT MARIAM UDDIN
Mariam is a Senior Manager, Finance leading the corporate accounting and financial reporting functions at Wealthsimple. She is focused on technical accounting, external reporting, as well as all corporate accounting functions. Prior to this, Mariam held a variety of roles at Vena Solutions (a B2B SaaS company) including FP & A and Financial Reporting. Mariam has extensive experience in revenue and expense planning, leading internal and external reporting functions, implementing accounting policies in accordance with IFRS, and leading the consolidated and local audits. She has written technical accounting memos on IFRS 16, led the implementation of Shareworks (Equity Management software by Morgan Stanley), and actively participated in the accounting and due diligence process during the Series C raise. Mariam is passionate about effective people leadership and was a CPA mentor on the Finance team. Prior to this, Mariam was a Audit Manager at EY in the Assurance practice, specializing in the Retail, Technology, and Oil and Gas sectors. She has been primarily involved in IFRS, US GAAP, SOX 404 audit engagements of public Canadian companies. She also successfully passed PCAOB inspection for a US public audit client.
