ABOUT MARIAM KAYANI

I\'m a passionate third-year civil engineering student at London South bank University. In my course I have gained the key skills; • The ability to recognise the limitations of the approximations and assumptions made while evaluating structures in civil engineering constructions, as well as a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of statics and strength of materials through the study of simple structures. • Ability to employ analytical and numerical techniques to enhance my engineering studies and, eventually, practise. • Learned the procedures for building information modelling and gained practical knowledge of several software programmes, including REVIT, Robot and AutoCAD for 3D modelling and structural analysis and design. • Investigated the constant flow of actual and ideal fluids in pipes and open channels to grasp the concepts of uniform flow and non-uniform flow in the channel. • Developed to appreciate and comprehend the foundations of soil mechanics, routine laboratory testing, and how to use it to derive and apply standard soil parameters to straightforward calculation problems. • Familiar with the various analytical techniques used to conduct structural evaluations on both fixed and movable beams and frames. Additionally, I developed my knowledge of project management, design, and construction management. • Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. My aspirations are to secure placements that will allow me to get a hands-on experience of the field and. network within the industry, establishing ties and connections that will enable me to grow.
