ABOUT MARIAM IGLESIAS
I’m a third-year pre-medical student at Johns Hopkins studying Molecular & Cellular Biology and Psychology. My background as a Cuban immigrant has been essential in shaping my values of empathic care, resilience, and a desire to learn and grow. Through my experiences in clinical research and patient advocacy, I’ve seen the importance of combining data with compassion, and how addressing the social determinants of health can transform patient care. I’m also deeply committed to mentorship, as I believe that guidance and shared knowledge are as vital to medicine as research and innovation.Excited for what’s ahead, I hope to continue exploring the intersections of research, equity, and patient care, building the skills to one day serve as a physician who both heals and uplifts communities.
