Hi, my name is Mariah, and I’m graduating this May. I currently work in plaintiff-side personal injury law, which has been incredibly fulfilling because I get to advocate for everyday people. Through this experience, I’ve strengthened my counseling, negotiation, and teamwork skills while working directly with clients, colleagues, medical professionals, and insurance adjusters. After completing my first year of law school, I returned to the firm as a Law Clerk, where I was able to apply my legal education to more advanced and substantive personal injury work. This role expanded my responsibilities beyond case management to include legal research, client analysis, and strategic support throughout pre-suit personal injury matters. Here\'s some of day to day work:> Preparing memoranda analyzing liability, damages, and potential defenses for attorney strategy meetings.> Researching case law, and statutes relevant to ongoing personal injury matters.> Analyzing prior court decisions and settlement trends to inform case strategy and demand valuations.> Drafting pre-suit and settlement-related documents such as demand letters, settlement proposals, and client communications.> Conducting detailed client interviews to document injury impact and support narrative for settlement negotiation or litigation.
