ABOUT MARIA BERTELLI
Born in the North of Italy, fond of foreign languages and curious about the rest of the world, I earned a Degree in Applied Interlinguistic Communication at the prestigious SSLMIT in Trieste and a Master’s Degree in Tourism Management at IULM University in Milan.I discovered my interest for the food and wine industry during an internship in Paris. After the very first work experiences, I had the opportunity to start a career in fine wine 10 years ago and I still enjoy every step of the way.Currently, I work as Sales Director for Europe - including the Italian market - at Barone Ricasoli, one of the world’s most historic and fascinating wineries. Through the years I have gained solid expertise in domestic and export sales, strategic planning, brand management.Fine wines, and Champagne in particular, are my biggest interests and focus today.I came to know and experienced the Champagne industry in my previous job for an important Italian import company and distributor.Today, I am in charge of Champagne Henriot for the Italian market, being Barone Ricasoli the national importer of this historic house for a few years. I take care of the relation with the Maison, I am in charge of sales objectives, pricing strategy and marketing plan for our market.
